BMW 4 series
NEXT STAGE: Redesign in 2020
The coupe has undergone a major makeover, including a bigger footprint with more power, performance and safety gear for 2021. The redesigned 4 Series Coupe, 5.2 inches longer and an inch wider than its predecessor, sports a new BMW kidney grille design to cool the vehicle's beefier engines. The grille is angled forward and extends to the bottom of the front bumper cover. It is framed by surfaces with a three-dimensional mesh structure.
NEXT STAGE: Redesign in 2021
The 4 Series convertible is expected to be redesigned in the first half of 2021. A redesign of the four-door Gran Coupe is expected in the second half of 2021. That will have a higher roofline and roomier interior and could be renamed as a 4-series GT. A mild-hybrid (48-volt) version of the 4 series will follow in 2022. A plug-in hybrid is also possible.
