Full-time employees: 55
DiMaio on improving employee retention: “Jaguar-Land Rover Monmouth takes pride in having lower than normal turnover rates versus the national averages. We have an open-door policy so the staff can feel comfortable offering suggestions on making the workplace better for all. Employee events were halted during the pandemic, which definitely hurts our team bonding. We are now in full swing again to get the team together, which will allow the downtime needed to connect all departments as one.”
DiMaio on offering a long-term career path: “We communicate all open positions within the region on a weekly basis and focus on hiring within whenever possible. We conduct yearly performance appraisals to review employees’ goals and future objectives to assist in them achieving it. We meet to ‘build our bench’ — succession planning.”
Human Resources Manager Brenda Cabrera on diversity, equity and inclusion: “We focus on building a diverse candidate pool to create inclusive environments at our dealerships where candidates from different backgrounds feel welcome and supported to perform their duties at a high level. ... Promoting a diverse and inclusive work force and environment is critical to supporting our employees as well as our customers.”
DiMaio on recruiting and retaining women: “An emphasis is made in recruiting women. ... We celebrate women by honoring International Women’s Day, American Business Women’s Day, Mother’s Day and Women’s Wellness Week. Twenty-five percent of our current work force are women, which is key to the success of our store and its culture.”
DiMaio on changes to promote work-life balance: “We are more flexible to employees working from home when needed. As a large dealer group, we run this store as a family-owned business and accommodate all employees to never miss an opportunity to be with their children/loved ones on special occasions, whether it be Little League baseball games, dance recitals or special school events.”
