Dealership group: Penske Automotive Group
Full-time employees: 43
Naegele on how employment practices could change with the industry shift to electric vehicles: “We plan to provide additional training for all our employees. We believe that our entire team needs to be prepared. If we want the public to buy in, we must be prepared to teach them. It’s management’s duty to prepare our employees for the future.”
Naegele on improving employee retention: “Improving our management style is key. We must be leaders and not bosses that go around barking orders. Employees want to be respected and treated fairly, but they also want a path that leads to their success. As a leader, it’s our job to show them that path. How much better do you feel about yourself and the place you work when you feel like your opinion matters and that you have leaders that will go out of their way to assist you in any way they can?”
Naegele on offering a long-term career path: “Our goal is to promote from within. We want all of our employees to have the opportunity to be able to grow in a stable environment. We want to give them the opportunity to reach for their own growth.”
Naegele on changes to promote work-life balance: “We’ve offered reduced hours, which has been praised by our employees. It’s given our employees the chance to have more personal and family time, and we don’t plan on making any changes.”
