Cary Wilson is currently supporting Tech Mahindra as a Senior Advisor since retiring from Panasonic Automotive of America in June of 2015 after 12 years of service. His last position was Senior Vice President of Panasonic Automotive Systems Company of America. In this position he was responsible for Corporate/Strategic Planning, including all external interfaces for the company (Government/Academia/Industry).
Previously at Panasonic Automotive he has held the position as “Division” lead for all businesses with American OEMs - globally, as well as other overseas OEM regional business in the Americas. He also held the position as the American’s CTO/Head of the America’s Engineering…
Prior to joining Panasonic Automotive Systems Company of America in June 2003, Wilson was responsible for Ford Motor Company’s global E/E Systems Engineering group as it’s Director for 6 years. He came to Ford Motor Company after 18 years with General Motors Corporation where his career has also included executive level and engineering positions (among them, assignments at Delco Electronics, BOC and Buick.) In his 35+ years of automotive experience, his responsibilities covered Product Engineering at both the OEM and the supplier. He has held assignments in most all electrical and electronic systems, as well as Chassis/HVAC. He also has held multiple positions of business leadership with P/L responsibilities.
During Wilson’s college years, he spent 5 years at the Environmental Research Institute of Michigan (ERIM).
Wilson holds a MSEE and BSEE from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
He has serving as Chairman of the CTEA (Convergence Transportation Electronics Association) Board of Directors until it acquisition by SAE in the Spring of 2010. He also has been a member of Metro Atlanta Chamber Board, SAE, as well as other organizations. His hobbies include skiing, motorcycles and older cars. Wilson lives in Fayetteville, Georgia, with his wife. He has five grown children.
