2019 ALL STAR | REMARKETING
BILL NASH
CEO,
CarMax
As CEO of CarMax, Bill Nash has been guiding the nation’s largest used-vehicle retailer through a major transition.
In line with the shifting times, Nash, 50, is spearheading CarMax’s omnichannel retail effort, which involves doing business with car shoppers in whatever way they choose: from their home, over the phone or in the store. That rollout has come alongside a continued expansion of physical locations.
CarMax has planned to open 13 stores in its current fiscal year and a similar amount in 2021.
In CarMax’s 2019 fiscal year, ended Feb. 28, vehicle sales grew 3.8 percent to 748,961. The company reported a 6.1 percent increase in net sales and operating revenue to $18.17 billion and a 27 percent rise in net earnings to $842.4 million on the year.
Nash has been CEO since 2016, after working his way up from an auction manager role in 1997.
Before that, he held various positions at Circuit City.
