2019 ALL STAR | EMERGING BUSINESS MODEL
COO and co-founder,
Alisyn Malek has used her experience as the former head of the innovation pipeline at General Motors to tackle a number of challenges in the self-driving space. This includes establishing a distinct model for the Ann Arbor, Mich.-based autonomous vehicle startup May Mobility as one of the company’s co-founders.
May Mobility announced this summer that it hit 100,000 rides. The startup is landing profitable contracts and is currently testing its own fleet of self-driving shuttles in Grand Rapids, Mich.; Detroit; and Providence, R.I. At GM, Malek, 34, was tasked with developing new growth businesses for the automaker, as well as identifying partners within transportation. She also played a role in the early stages of Cruise Automation at GM and led a team to advance charging technology for the Spark and Bolt electric vehicles.
