Judge's Citation: For GKN's new Constant Velocity Joint (CVJ) and accompanying sealing and side shaft technology. At the heart of GKN's premium sideshaft technology is a newly designed CVJ that has raised the bar across the industry for performance and weight. The company's new CVJ is 25% lighter, 10% smaller and able to handle up to 27% more torque than what it replaces. Encompassing a new internal design geometry this CVJ has changed the rules of the game in an area of automotive technology that has seen few significant improvements over the past several decades.
