Terry Iwasaki, 49
Vice President, CFO and Treasurer, Metaldyne LLC
First automotive job: Isawaka Gasket in Southfield, Mich., in 1989.
Proudest professional achievement: Working as part of a team to turn around a Hamburg, Mich., plant for Masco Technology. It was losing $1 million a month when we took over. I had the worst line, which made exhaust manifolds. It took a long time, but everybody on the shop floor engaged and it [turned] profitable.
Current challenge at work: It's very different being a CFO and dealing with board members who have different expectations.
What you do to relax: My passion is fishing -- flats fishing. I first did that in Key West, going after bonefish. I'd love a flats fishing Grand Slam: catching a bonefish, a permit and a tarpon all in the same day.
