Dodge Charger Daytona R/T to start at $61,590

Dodge's first electric Charger will start at $61,590 for the 496 hp Daytona R/T trim, only a $2,075 jump from the similarly powered Charger Scat Pack widebody with 485 hp that was discontinued last year.

The more powerful 670 hp Daytona Scat Pack variant opens at $75,185, coming in $12,175 less than the gas-guzzling 2023 Charger SRT Hellcat widebody jailbreak model with 717 hp.

Shipping is included in the pricing. The EVs will qualify for the full $7,500 federal tax credit when leased.

The first two Charger Daytona EVs will be offered as coupes and go into production this summer.

"The future of the Dodge brand launches with a two-model 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona two-door lineup that looks, drives, sounds and feels like a Dodge, outperforming the legendary models they replace and delivering the experience the Dodge Brotherhood of Muscle expects," said Dodge CEO Matt McAlear in a statement. "And we are just getting started. Four-door Charger Daytona models, along with the 550-hp Dodge Charger Sixpack H.O. and the 420-hp Dodge Charger Sixpack S.O. fueled by the 3L Twin Turbo Hurricane engine, are coming soon."

Pricing hasn't been revealed for the four-door Daytona models going into production in the first half of 2025.

The gasoline-powered two-door Dodge Charger Sixpack H.O. and four-door Dodge Charger Sixpack S.O. models are scheduled to begin production in the second half of 2025 — later than the initial first-quarter timing that was announced earlier this year. Pricing hasn't been released.

The 2024 Charger Daytona Scat Pack has a 260-mile range and a 0-60 mph time of 3.3 seconds. The Daytona R/T has a 317-mile range.

Dodge teased the unique sound it's bringing to the EV segment on its social channels . An unspecified Daytona variant zipped through a tunnel and roared like a gasoline vehicle.

The Charger Daytona EVs will replace the growl of a V-8 engine with sounds sent through an amplifier and tuning chamber at the rear of the vehicle, a system Dodge calls the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust.

Dodge says the Daytona models will make their "worldwide public debut" Aug. 10 at the Motortrend Presents Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge Event in Pontiac, Mich.

The Daytona EVs include the choice of an at-home Level 2 charging station or $600 charge credits through Free2move Charge, a 360-degree ecosystem that Dodge-parent Stellantis launched in 2023 that delivers charging and energy management to address all EV customer needs. Dodge said both vehicles can be recharged to 80 percent from 20 percent in just over 27 minutes when using a Level 3 DC Combined Charging System fast charger.

The Charger lineup will be built at Stellantis' Windsor Assembly Plant in Ontario.
