TO THE EDITOR:
Regarding the new Z4 ("BMW zooms back into the roadster business with Z4," Aug. 27), I am again dismayed at a BMW design.
It's sad enough that the company's cars continue to get more cluttered and overdone, especially considering the purity of design for which they were once known. Now, BMW has lowered its standards even further by virtually copying another car, albeit one that has been out of production for a decade.
Perhaps BMW thought we had forgotten it because it was neither a design — nor sales — success. Unfortunately, we are now reminded, in spite of the tacked-on kidney grille: The Chrysler Crossfire has returned.
