Following the strong second-quarter results, Aptiv raised its full-year 2018 outlook for the second time this year. The new outlook for full-year 2018 revenue is in a range that averages out to $14.5 billion, up from a range centered on $14.2 billion as of the end of the first quarter.
"We had five active-safety customers a couple of years ago," Clark said. "Today, we're heading pretty close to 20." Clark said new-business bookings in the second quarter were $6.1 billion for Aptiv, including revenue over the life of the programs, up from $5.1 billion a year ago.
Aptiv, based in Dublin, Ireland, ranks No. 21 on the Automotive News list of the top 100 global suppliers, with worldwide sales to automakers of $11.2 billion in 2017.
