TO THE EDITOR:
Everyone loses sight of the fact that the electrical supply feeding electric vehicles must be produced using fuel of some kind — oil, natural gas, wind, solar and/or nuclear power — and that an infrastructure to supply this electricity to the vehicles must be set up around the nation and world.
In my opinion, the future of EVs is using the Toyota Prius business model (electricity and gasoline engine). The use of a micro motor that uses very little fuel is the way to go. It would eliminate range anxiety, the need for extended electric fueling stations and, in turn, an added electrical supply chain.
It's a simple and easy solution to the supply issues.
