Dealerships using AutoFi's vehicle sales and financing platform can construct deals to send to customers, the company said. But at least one store is taking the platform much further, integrating the tool into its vehicle-delivery program.
AutoFi's platform enables customers to shop for and finance vehicles online, before entering a store. Now, dealerships' business development centers can construct deals through AutoFi and send them to consumers.
"This is a huge change in behavior to give the Internet department these tools that allow a customer to start the buying process, rather than just book an appointment," AutoFi CEO Kevin Singerman told Automotive News.
AutoFi lets customers proceed as far as they want with a purchase online and ensures a smooth handoff at the dealership, he said.
Shifting the buying process to the Internet department recasts dealerships' role in customer interactions.
Enabling the business development center to send a quote directly to a customer, Singerman said, "reduces the barrier and gives customers information to make more well-informed decisions."
