LOS ANGELES — Mitsubishi's U.S. dealers have been clamoring for a midsize pickup. Could their wish finally be coming true?
Nothing has been confirmed, but new Mitsubishi Motors North America CEO Fred Diaz says the company is looking into bringing a midsize hauler to the U.S.
A key question, Diaz says, "is do we do that with an existing platform that our alliance already has, or do we consider building an all-new platform? That's something we're studying right now as a possibility."
It's one of the clearest signals yet that the company is serious about a pickup to compete against the likes of the Chevrolet Colorado, Ford Ranger, GMC Canyon and Toyota Tacoma.
