Many dealerships provide shuttle service for customers who are having their car maintained or repaired, but Post Oak Motor Cars in Houston takes it to a much higher level.
Post Oak can shuttle its customers in a helicopter.
The dealership sells Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Bugatti cars amid ritzy surroundings in the Uptown/Galleria area of Houston, and it is owned by Tilman Fertitta, who also owns Landry's Inc. restaurant company, Golden Nugget casinos and hotels and the Houston Rockets NBA team.
The showrooms are in a commercial development anchored by a 38-story luxury hotel (The Post Oak) that opened this year. The two-story Rolls showroom is part of the hotel, and the Bentley and Bugatti showrooms are nearby in a separate building, with the service area for all three underneath it.
When it comes to taking care of customers, Service and Parts Director Jeff Pollard says, "There's nothing we can't provide.
"That's where we distinguish ourselves, even amongst our own peers. We're fully integrated into a five-star hotel. If you need helicopter service to and from our dealership, we can provide that. If you need your car picked up in an enclosed container, we will travel across state lines if necessary and return it to you," Pollard told Automotive News.
"If you want tickets to a sporting event or to go to the finest steakhouse in Houston, we can assist with dinner reservations. If you need a chauffeured Rolls-Royce while you're at our hotel, the list of what we can do is really endless. We have full resources at our disposal through the hotel and through Landry's. If you need it, we can provide it."
Dealerships across all price levels of the industry are courting service customers with concierge services and on-site amenities for "waiters," but in the rarefied world of six-figure ultraluxury and exotic cars, the red carpet is thicker and plusher.
