One of the biggest production debuts at the 2018 New York auto show was the redesigned Toyota RAV4. The compact crossover, one of the overall best-sellers in the U.S., will be offered in an extended family of models targeting a diverse range of customers when it arrives late this year. Hints of other crossovers on the market are evident in the redesign. Here's a roundup of initial reaction from the automotive media on the 2019 RAV4.
"Whether you like the new design, Toyota deserves credit for taking risks and going for a totally different look. We see some of the biggest design changes up front. The previous-generation RAV4 featured a rounded face, but the new model has a squared-off front end. New headlights complement the more aggressive, sharply defined grille. The look reminds us a lot of the Tacoma, especially the Adventure trim model. Toyota also positioned the foglights higher up on the front fascia. Overall, we'd say the RAV4's front end looks much more athletic than before."
