Dealers would be wise to keep compliance measures in place despite seeming changes in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s priorities, said Tom Hudson of Hudson Cook law firm. At many dealerships, he said, “the lack of compliance is over such basic requirements that there is still room for any regulator to come in and hang a dealer out to dry.”
