Audi to tweak CPO program to boost dealer profitability

Audi in the next 60 days plans to tweak to its certified pre-owned vehicle program to help improve dealer profitability, Audi of America President Scott Keogh told Automotive News.

Keogh, speaking after the Audi make meeting, declined to offer details, but said it's the latest in a string of decisions to help boost dealerships' bottom lines. Audi last year reconfigured its service loaner program; that resulted in a $700,000 swing in profitability at Prime Motor Group's Audi store in Westwood, Mass., whose CEO, David Rosenberg, is chairman of the Audi National Dealer Council.

"The days of having 5-year fixed plans in this business are over," Rosenberg said in an interview. "The business has become very fluid, very dynamic. You need to respond to the marketplace on a weekly or monthly basis."
