CHICAGO — Ford unveiled a freshened 2019 Edge in January at the Detroit auto show, alongside an ST performance variant. But for the Chicago show, Ford introduced a Titanium Elite appearance package for the five-seat crossover.
The package builds on the top trim line with 20-inch wheels and a spiffier looking skid plate. The show model was capped off with a Stone Grey paint job.
Cristina Aquino, marketing manager for the Edge, said the Elite look is an alternative to the more raucous ST. "If you think about how our ST has gotten a little bit more aggressive, a little more sinister up front, this is kind of the elegant counterpoint," she said.
The Titanium trim line accounts for one-third of Edge sales, she said, noting that the high-series mix of Edge sales has increased 8 percent in the last four years.
"This is the all-in package for the car," she said of Titanium Elite. Pricing was not announced.
