In the brave new world where we're all driving electric vehicles, what happens to gas stations?
Reebok wants to turn them into fitness centers.
Reebok, working with design firm Gensler, calls it a "Get Pumped" campaign. The goal is a country where a healthy gym and restaurant are no more than a few miles away.
The concept has three forms:
The Network: Interstate rest stops become places where travelers can take a break for spinning, boxing and running a trail, among other workout options.
The Oasis (above):The larger gas stations that commuters pass on small, local highways will be turned into recharge zones, with food from a farm-to-table eatery or juice bar, as well as yoga and meditation pods plus outdoor running courses.
The Community Center:Transformed small-town gas stations will allow communities to enhance their healthy life. People can charge electric cars, while nutrition classes are offered in former service bays. The minimart will offer local, healthy food, and pop-up trucks will offer rotating CrossFit and spinning classes.
