The BMW Concept X7 was supposed to make its Detroit auto show debut this week but "the SUV was damaged while in transport to Detroit by truck," a BMW spokeswoman said Tuesday.
BMW scratches the X in X7
So BMW has scratched the "X" in what was supposed to be the X7's show slot and is showcasing a 7 series sedan instead.
It teases the production X7 that will go on sale in the U.S. in early 2019.
BMW X7 preproduction models have already started rolling off the assembly line at the company's massive assembly plant in Spartanburg, S.C.
It will be BMW's first three-row, full-size crossover.
