On his walkaround of the Detroit auto show floor late Monday, Daimler AG CEO Dieter Zetsche stopped in at rival BMW, chatted up an old colleague and checked out some new competition. Zetsche -- accompanied by Daimler’s design chief, sales boss and head of r&d -- took a close look at the new X2 small crossover that BMW unveiled at the show and spoke with BMW finance chief Nicolas Peter and BMW of North America CEO Bernhard Kuhnt, who worked for Mercedes for 20 years.
