Chevrolet launched a display marking 100 years of trucks Thursday at General Motors' headquarters in downtown Detroit. In addition to numerous classic trucks, the redesigned 2019 Silverado is also getting its first Detroit showing.
GM's classic truck show
The truck, coming out late this year, introduces several new technologies, including an advanced cylinder cut-off system and a lightweight frame and body. The redesigned truck will also get a new 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder diesel engine.
The 2019 Silverado makes its auto show debut during media days at the North American International Auto show, just blocks away from GM’s Renaissance Center headquarters in downtown Detroit.
