ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Former Ford Motor Credit Chairman James Ford died Nov. 23. He was 94.
Ford taught economics at universities and was a Federal Reserve economist before joining the automaker in 1961, where he spent the rest of his career. He worked his way up to president of Ford Credit in 1977 and chairman in 1980. He was named a Ford Motor Co. executive vice president and president of Ford Finance Services Group in 1987. He retired in 1988
