Subaru of America is officially riding a six-year streak of monthly sales increases. The automaker had its best November ever as U.S. deliveries rose 0.8 percent for the month, extending its streak of monthly sales increases to 72 months.
Total sales: 51,721
Notable nameplates: Forester up 0.5%, Impreza up 229% and Crosstrek up 23%; each had its best November ever, Subaru said. Outback sales dropped 19% and Legacy demand fell 44%. Subaru's performance duo of WRX and WRX STI dipped 8.8% while the low-volume BRZ climbed 8.9%.
Incentives: $1,041 per vehicle, down 5.1 percent from a year earlier, ALG says.
Average transaction price: $27,890, down 1.6 percent from a year earlier, according to ALG.
U.S. market share: 3.7% last month vs. 3.7% in Nov. 2016; 3.7% year to date vs. 3.5% year to date through November 2016.
Quote: "With the continuation of our annual Share the Love event, and December typically being one of the best retail sales months of the year, the Subaru franchise is in a great position to achieve its ninth consecutive all-time sales record in 2017," said Jeff Walters, Subaru of America senior vice president of sales.
Did you know? After three consecutive months of sales declines of 12% or more for the Forester, the compact crossover was the brand's best-seller in November with 14,662 deliveries.
