Toyota Motor Corp.'s U.S. sales fell 3 percent in November after five straight months of gains, with both Toyota and Lexus struggling to move cars and seeing some cooling in the light-truck market.
Brands: Toyota, including Scion, down 2.4%; Lexus down 6.7%.
Notable nameplates: Toyota Camry sales up 24% to nearly 35,000 units; Corolla down 32% to less than 20,000 for the first time since January 2012; RAV4 up 2.2% to a November record of 28,736; Highlander down 10%; Lexus IS down 31%; RX down 1.6%.
Incentives: $2,651 per vehicle, up 7.5% from a year earlier, according to ALG.
Average transaction price: $32,246, up 0.8% from a year earlier, ALG says.
U.S. market share: 13.7% last month vs. 14.3% in Nov. 2016; 14.1% year to date vs. 13.9% year to date through November 2016.
Quote: "While light trucks continue to shine for Toyota division ... we were even more thrilled to see our ... dealers help Camry sedan rise to have its best-ever November," said Jack Hollis, Toyota general manager.
Did you know? Toyota's aging body-on-frame platform underpinning some of its thirstiest nameplates continues to be a hit. 4Runner sales rose 17% to more than 10,000 units last month. GX sales rose 5.4%.
