Denny Hecker's release to a halfway house is now "uncertain" because of the release of "misinformation," one of his lawyers said.
Former auto dealer Denny Hecker is still in federal prison, contrary to last week's reports by several news outlets that Hecker was released to a halfway house in Minneapolis.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons has confirmed with several news outlets that Hecker is still in the Pekin, Ill., prison. His former bankruptcy attorney Barbara May said last week that he would be released to a halfway house.
Bill Mauzy, one of Hecker's attorneys, told the Minneapolis Star Tribune that Hecker's release to the halfway house is now "uncertain" because of the release of "misinformation."
Mauzy was told the halfway house no longer has the means to "accommodate" Hecker and the "attention he would bring," the Star Tribune reported.
