Technical service bulletins are usually a complex set of instructions from automakers to service technicians on how to fix a common problem with a specific vehicle.
But bulletin 23-053-16 that Fiat Chrysler issued this month about a problem with certain 2017 Ram 1500 pickups gets style points for both brevity and simplicity.
The problem: Some Ram 1500 special edition pickups have an engine under the hood (a 3.6-liter V-6) that doesn't match the Hemi badge stuck behind the front wheels (indicating a 5.7-liter V-8).
The solution, per FCA: "If the vehicle has Hemi emblems installed and the vehicle does not have a Hemi engine, the emblem will need to be removed."
And credit where credit is due: That does seem easier than swapping out the engine.
