To the Editor:
Keith Crain's Oct. 17 comment on the technology craze was well-written and in my mind absolutely right on ("Industry is crazy over technology").
Regarding his position on autonomous vehicles and safety, with which I agree: One of my many jobs at General Motors was running its proving grounds. The many proving grounds that vehicle builders have around the world can provide perfect locations and facilities to develop and test autonomous vehicles safely.
The U.S. Army's Aberdeen Proving Ground would also be a perfect location and facility for that purpose.
Perhaps we need a new Convergence on autonomous vehicles.
