The replacement hood for this 2014 Jeep Wrangler was about 2 inches two long. But why?
The redesigned 2018 Jeep Wrangler hasn't gone into production yet, but one person can already claim ownership.
Or at least could -- partially.
Posting on the website jlwranglerforums.com, "Redrockjk," the owner of a 2014 Wrangler, told a story of ordering a replacement hood from a junkyard near Chelsea, Mich. But when the white hood came in and was installed, it turned out to be about 2 inches too long.
The reason? As confirmed when the junkyard called Redrockjk to retrieve the hood, the part had actually come from Fiat Chrysler and was supposed to have been destroyed, not sold, having been used on a preproduction mule. Whoops.
