Ram trucks are hot in more ways than one. Not only did Ram outsell one of its rivals, the Chevrolet Silverado, in September, but thieves in Texas already are eyeballing the special badges on the just-introduced 2017 Lone Star Silver Edition.
Two of the badges were stolen this month at the State Fair of Texas, which includes an auto show. The red, white, blue and chrome badge, placed on the lower left portion of the grille, looks a bit like what a sheriff in the Old West might have worn.
The Lone Star Silver Edition, available only in Texas, starts at $40,315 including shipping, and is mostly a cosmetic package featuring special 20-inch chrome wheels, bucket seats and a unique mesh grille.
