Walls don't talk.
But two boards located near the guest reception area at Jim Hudson Lexus, Augusta in Martinez, Ga., say a lot about employees who go the extra mile to satisfy customers.
Posted on one, known as the brag board, are notes, emails, social media reviews and cards written by customers for jobs well done.
On the other are photos of the dealership's top compliment-getters each month, dubbed CLIFF Superstars. CLIFF stands for Care, Listen, Integrity, Find solutions and Follow-up.
But wait, there's more.
Superstars get treated to lunch with the general sales manager. They also get to spin a prize wheel to win $100 to $500.
Jim Hudson Lexus, Augusta is among several stores on this year's list of Automotive News' Best Dealerships To Work For that reward employees who generate positive feedback from customers by posting the complimentary correspondence on brag walls for colleagues and customers to see. The pats on the back often include cash and other spiffs.
Angela Maskey, public relations manager at Jim Hudson Lexus, Augusta, said the reward program expresses appreciation to employees who perform exemplary work in an environment that can be stressful.
"We work long hours, and it's very intense and a lot of pressure," Maskey said. "You have to have things like this to balance out the workday. It's not a lot of time and not a lot of money, but it is a pause to say "Thank you' and an encouragement to keep pushing ourselves to be just a little bit better than we were yesterday. It's all about continuous improvement."
Crevier BMW and Crevier Mini, in Santa Ana, Calif., began recognizing employees that receive positive reviews from customers on Yelp and Google two years ago, said Al Parajeckas, general manager of the stores, which are owned by Penske Automotive Group.
