Schaumburg, Ill., October 6, 2016 -- Zurich North America has announced that David Putz will become head of Direct Markets and Programs effective January 1, 2017. Putz is currently head of Direct Markets for Zurich and with the retirement of current head of Programs, Roger Brunner, Putz’ leadership role will expand to include Zurich Programs business, as well.
“We have been looking at our overall business unit structure to identify opportunities to maximize leadership contributions, drive efficiency and effectiveness, and continue our customer focus and responsiveness to the market,” said Kathleen Savio, head of Alternative Markets. “The decision to expand David’s leadership role to include the Programs business in addition to continuing his leadership of Direct Markets business is key to achieving these goals.”
Putz is responsible for the operational management of Zurich’s offerings to the automotive industry and – as of January 1 – also will be responsible for the operational management of Zurich’s offerings through its program administrator operating model. Each business unit will remain separate and distinct businesses and continue to play a critical role in the future success of Zurich North America. To ensure a smooth transition for its distributors, customers and employees, Putz will work with the retiring Brunner between now and the end of the year. He will continue to be located in Overland Park, Kansas and report to Savio.
Note: Alternative Markets is the new name for Zurich’s Programs & Direct Markets business unit, which also includes Group Captives and expanded earlier this year with Zurich’s acquisition of the RCIS crop business.
