WASHINGTON -- Volkswagen Group of America has named a new aftersales chief for the VW and Audi brands in the U.S.
Effective Oct. 16, Anu Goel will take over as executive vice president of group aftersales and services at VW Group of America.
Goel, 53, will assume responsibility for vehicle and parts logistics, wholesale parts operations, market research and customer relationship management functions for the two brands, according to the company.
He will replace Jan Bures, who will take on a new role within the group to be announced later, a VW spokesman said.
Under Bures’ aftersales leadership, VW opened a $6.8 million, 143,000-square-foot parts distribution center near Sacramento, Calif., to service 94 VW and Audi dealerships in Northern California and the Pacific Northwest.
A VW Group employee since 2012, Goel is currently vice president of parts and vehicle logistics at VW Group of America. He will report to VW Group of America CEO Hinrich Woebcken.
In a statement, Woebcken welcomed Goel’s appointment, calling him an “esteemed leader” within the group.
“His experience of more than 30 years in the industry will help grow and strengthen relationships with our partners in the supply chain,” Woebcken said.
