Powertrain components supplier Metaldyne Performance Group Inc., moving to expand its casting operations, has acquired Brillion Iron Works, a Brillion, Wis., supplier that designs and produces gray, ductile and austempered ductile iron products.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Metaldyne, in a statement Friday, said the acquisition will complement the company’s existing casting business and production capacity.
“MPG has completed 10 acquisitions over the past decade and we have successfully integrated all of them,” CEO George Thanopoulos said in a statement. “Our customers are very supportive of this bolt-on transaction given our successful history of acquisitions and the current depressed state of the industrial and heavy truck markets.”
In July, the company consolidated its eight brands — HHI, Grede, Cloyes, Metaldyne, Jernberg, Impact Forge, NovoCast and FormTech — under the MPG name.
The company’s customers include Ford Motor Co, General Motors, Fiat Chrysler and the ZF Group.
Metaldyne Performance Group ranks No. 76 on the Automotive News list of the top 100 global suppliers with worldwide original-equipment automotive parts sales of $2.5 billion in 2015.
