Cadillac plans to introduce a concept vehicle at this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Few details are available. Cadillac isn’t saying if the concept is an SUV, crossover or new sporty car.
But Cadillac has used Pebble Beach -- a show for high-dollar classic and modern luxury vehicles -- to make statements on its design capabilities. That was done most recently in 2013 with the Cadillac Elmiraj, a vehicle considered the most elegant created under former General Motors design chief Ed Welburn, who retired July 1.
Cadillac spokesman Donny Nordlicht says Welburn’s successor, Mike Simcoe, will be at the concept’s debut Thursday, along with Cadillac President Johann de Nysschen and several other executives.
De Nysschen and Andrew Smith, Cadillac’s executive director of global design, color and trim, will introduce the vehicle.
Here’s one thing we do know about the concept vehicle: It will feature curved video OLED -- organic light emitting diode -- screens that GM is developing for a future Cadillac production vehicle.
Cadillac will broadcast the debut live on Facebook at 10:45 a.m. ET on Thursday.
