A plea for strict self-driving car maintenance
Skipping oil changes can ruin a car's engine. Failing to maintain an autonomous vehicle can result in deaths. That's why there's an emerging view that the current way of servicing cars won't cut it when self-driving vehicles hit the road in large numbers. As a result, some auto sector leaders say the industry needs to ensure autonomous vehicles are maintained on strict schedules – or carmakers and customers could pay a price.
