Ted Morse, CEO of a longstanding, family-owned Florida dealership group, died Tuesday at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. He was 66.
Morse died after battling a long illness, Ed Morse Automotive Group said in a statement.
Ted Morse took the reins of Ed Morse Automotive Group in Delray Beach, Fla., in 2006 upon the retirement of his father, Ed Morse, who founded Morse Motors with his own father in 1946. In the early 1960s, Ed Morse bought into his first dealership. By 1968, he opened Ed Morse Chevrolet in Lauderhill and Ed Morse Bayview Cadillac in Fort Lauderdale, adding 28 dealerships throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Ed Morse died in 2012.
