To the Editor:
I think News Editor James B. Treece was a little hard on the Diesel Technology Forum ("What's the VW settlement about? Heavy-duty trucks, of course," autonews.com, July 3).
Since its founding, the forum has been one of the few places reporters can go for solid data on diesel use, diesel emissions regulations, etc.
No doubt it has been stung by the Volkswagen scandal, but its job is to promote the technology, not the products of a manufacturer.
My guess is that diesel, as a technology, will be with us long after this VW mess has been forgotten.
