Sharon Silke Carty has joined Automotive News as an enterprise reporter and news editor.
Carty, 43, comes from Yahoo, where she was editor-in-chief of the company’s digital automotive magazine, focusing on the consumer side of the industry. She spent six years as USA Today’s sole Detroit-based reporter, primarily covering the Detroit 3 and breaking news. She has also worked for the Associated Press and Dow Jones and was editor-in-chief of AOL Autos and Autoblog before joining Yahoo.
During her career, she spent time in India and South Korea studying local economies through journalism fellowships.
Carty is from New Jersey and graduated from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J., where she studied political science and journalism.
