For Fred Diaz, it's deja vu. Last week, Diaz, 49, went from senior vice president for U.S. sales and marketing and operations at Nissan
North America to a newly created position -- vice president for truck sales.
He was replaced in the sales job by Nissan Canada boss Christian Meunier, 48, who will keep responsibility for Canada.
Why does this sound familiar?
Well, in June 2011, Diaz was Chrysler Group's head of U.S. sales when the company replaced him with Reid Bigland, then head of Chrysler Canada. Like Meunier, Bigland kept the Canada job.
And similar to what happened last week, Diaz retained responsibility for pickups and commercial vehicles as head of the Ram brand.
Diaz departed Chrysler Group in 2013 for the Nissan job that he just lost.
