Dealers using the VinSolutions website will be transitioned to Dealer.com, Cox Automotive said.
Cox Automotive acquired Dealer.com as part of its purchase of Dealertrack Technologies Inc., an established leader in lending software and digital marketing. The $4 billion cash purchase closed Oct. 1.
Dealer.com will become Cox Automotive’s primary website for serving its dealer clients, the company said. VinSolutions also is a Cox Automotive subsidiary.
“The advantage of our newly expanded organization is that we can truly leverage the best of the best in everything we do for our clients,” said Mark O’Neil, CEO of Cox Automotive Software, in a statement Thursday.
“The Dealer.com website solution is certified by 19 OEMs, and has a history of success and stability,” he said.
The transition from VinSolutions to Dealer.com is to begin in early 2016 and take two years to complete. Cox Automotive said the terms of contracts that dealers have with VinSolutions will be fully supported during the transition.
