Scion’s “Weird, Right?” ad campaign for the iM hatchback and iA compact sedan is back for another round of weirdness.
The first batch of quirky ads that debuted in September starred actors Jaleel White and James Franco, along with “wax museum Urkel” and a “recently liberated car dealership tube man.”
This time, the weirdness is kicked up a notch with ads featuring a teenage vampire sporting a “man bun” hairstyle, and a slew of “Stockphoto Business People” that are made of cardboard.
In one of the 30-second spots, the iM’s dual-zone climate control, fuel economy and heated side mirrors are highlighted as the vampire rides around with a spooked person he picked up using a ride-sharing app.
In the other ad, the “Stockphoto Business People,” are carpooling in the iA. The iA’s push-button start, standard 16-inch alloy wheels and backup camera are weaved into the narrative.
