Steve Majoros, right, marketing director for Chevrolet, accepts the Green Car of the Year award for the redesigned and re-engineered 2016 Chevrolet Volt from Ron Cogan, Green Car Journal editor and publisher, on Thursday. The Volt also won the award when it debuted in 2010 as a 2011 model. In addition to the Volt, finalists for the award were the gas-powered Honda Civic and Hyundai Sonata, Audi's A3 E-Tron and the redesigned Toyota Prius hybrid. In winning the award, Chevrolet's latest plug-in hybrid was praised for its increased range, all-new propulsion system and bold design.
