Toyota's Land Cruiser is getting significant improvements for the first time since 2008. The 2016 version of the large SUV gets:
- New styling from the A-pillar forward. The fascia, bumper and hood have been restyled. Projector-beam LED headlights have been added along with a new Land Cruiser logo.
- A new, standard eight-speed automatic transmission -- the first for a Toyota brand vehicle -- and a 5.7-liter, 381-hp, V-8 engine.
- New rear styling with updated taillights featuring a light-tube design and LED brake lights, a new rear bumper and chrome molding with the Land Cruiser logo.
Toyota also has added new safety features, including lane-departure warning and a system to mitigate collisions. Prices have not been announced, but the 2015 model was priced at $81,080 including shipping.
