Estimated North American car and truck production in April rose 5.3 percent from the year-earlier month to 1,561,094 units. April marked the 45th consecutive month for North American output to top 1 million.
Car output rose 5.8 percent in the U.S., 6.4 percent in Canada and 17 percent in Mexico. North American car production climbed 8.5 percent. Truck production increased 4.5 percent in the U.S. and 13 percent in Mexico but fell 14 percent in Canada. North American truck output gained 3.2 percent. Vehicle output rose 5 percent in the U.S. and 15 percent in Mexico but dropped 5.6 percent in Canada.
Vehicle output for the first four months of 2015 rose 0.6 percent in the U.S. and 12 percent in Mexico but slid 6.7 percent in Canada. North American vehicle production in the first four months increased 1.7 percent to an estimated 5,967,014.
