“This LS updates that first one nicely. It’s silent and fluid. If anything jumps out, it’s the car’s smoothness. There’s a center console-mounted knob with eco, comfort, normal, sport and who-knows-what-else modes. Selecting those different modes does indeed make a difference in the way the car drives. They’re labeled appropriately: Eco does what you’d expect, as does normal, and sport firms things up, and etc. No surprises. Body control is good if you’re not in comfort or eco mode wherein it can be too soft and floaty. Sport firms things up nicely though you won’t mistake it for, say, an XJ in terms of precision and/or fun. The body is stiff and helps with the smoothness; the car basically sails over potholes and other imperfections.
The engine is powerful and smooth, and when you stomp on the throttle, it actually makes decent sounds. Transmission shifts are imperceptible. Prior to starting this review, I had no idea how many speeds the trans has because you literally can’t tell when it is shifting. The overall experience is comfortable and super quiet.” -- AutoWeek
