I'm getting tired of carmakers using combinations of letters and sometimes numbers to identify autos.
It has become very confusing.
If you have known a name for a half century, it's branded into the brain. But anything more recent, and it gets complicated.
So it's a real pleasure to see Lincoln resurrect the hallowed name of Continental for its new top-of-the-line sedan.
I still have a problem trying to differentiate Lincoln nameplates -- MKCs, Xs and Zs, etc. -- but Continental is a massive first step.
Both Ford and GM are rolling the dice with their new luxury sedans, and the winners are bound to include customers and dealers across the globe.
Those cars aren't just for the U.S. They will be exported to China as well.
It is fascinating how those two companies plan to approach the highly competitive luxury field.
