Generation Y is projected to account for 40 percent of new-car purchases within the next five years. But are dealers equipped to understand their needs? And how can Gen Y, Generation X and baby boomers work better together?
In June, Automotive News will launch a series of national seminars that will outline strategies focused on generational issues. The half-day sessions -- June 23 in Chicago, Sept. 9 in Dallas and Nov. 12 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. -- will focus on:
- Talent retention and employee retention.
- Sales, service and F&I strategies.
- Developing better social media skills.
- Generating more online leads.
Working in cooperation with generational speaker Jason Dorsey and the Center for Generational Kinetics, the Automotive News gen eXcellence summits are designed to help dealership personnel navigate demographic shifts.
Dorsey will headline the series. Attendance will be limited to the first 200 registrants from dealerships. Ally Auto and TrueCar are exclusive sponsors of the series.
