Ralph Gilles, longtime chief designer for Fiat Chrysler in the United States, has been appointed head of design for the automaker’s global parent.
Gilles, 45, was also named to the Group Executive Council, the highest decision-making body of parent Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.
Gilles succeeds Lorenzo Ramaciotti, who is retiring, as the global head of design.
Gilles is a graduate of the College for Creative Studies in Detroit and former head of the Dodge and SRT brands as well as motorsports.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles also announced that it was appointing Mauro Fenzi as its COO-systems for FCA, as well as CEO of subsidiary Comau. Fenzi replaces Riccardo Tarantini, who the company said will remain as COO for castings.
